Presentation

Visual Calculus - Mathematics and Multimedia

The World Wide Web provides us with a unique opportunity for the dissemination of a variety of instructional materials in mathematics. With the introduction of Java applets, interactive materials could be written that would work on almost any platform. However, Java applets are difficult and time consuming to write by the occasional programmer and the presentation of mathematical symbols is the primary source of problems for using other methods. The author will discuss the variety of techniques that he has used in his development of course materials for a single variable calculus course.
